Trust Blu-ray Review

19 January 2013
  • Summary: One of the oddly comforting subtexts in Juno is how calm and supportive the titular heroine's father and stepmother are when they find out their little girl is pregnant. It may not exactly be realistic,as those of you with increasingly sexually aware teenagers will agree. I've told both of my sons that if they ever get a girl pregnant, I'll kill them, at which point the real punishments will kick in (and for you humor deprived who are currently looking up Child...

Trust Review

DoBlu
26 July 2011
  • Excerpt: Trust has a lot to talk about. It’s all uncomfortable, Annie (Liana Liberato) chatting with someone whom she believes is her online boyfriend. Her parents think it’s casual teenager stuff, letting Annie be. Unfortunately, the “boyfriend” is a 35-year old posing as a high school volleyball star, a manipulative, infinitely creepy predator waiting to strike, and he does. Trust spirals out of control, Annie thoroughly convinced Charlie is just misunderstood.

  • Summary: Why do you keep lying to me ? Trust relentlessly hits hard with its frightening and all-too-real depiction of what is not only a plausible nightmare scenario, but one that sadly plays out everyday, claiming new victims despite the abundance of warning signs and plethora of tales of horrific trauma that surround the world of online seduction.

Trust

AV Club
31 March 2011
  • Excerpt: A revenge drama minus the revenge, the David Schwimmer-directed Trust portrays the impotent rage of wanting to right a wrong that has no legal recourse. The claustrophobic film offers a strange anti-catharsis; it’s all tension and frustration with no crowd-pleasing release. With a little tweaking, this easily could have veered into grindhouse exploitation or mindless wish-fulfillment, but Schwimmer’s detached, theatrical approach to his material makes it is more cerebral...
