TOWER HEIST - Blu-ray review

moviemet.com
19 April 2012
  • Summary: Ratner's latest production is a generic comedy that matches its unimaginative title. Yet, it is a slickly shot picture and the imminently likeable cast generates enough goodwill to make it a fun hour and forty five minutes.

Tower Heist

High-Def Digest
21 February 2012
  • Conclusion: 'Tower Heist' had two things working against it: one, the terrible trailer, and two, director Brett Ratner. When I screened it theatrically, I expected to hate it – but it actually defied the odds and kept my attention. The first act gives it an unfunny, rocky start, but once Eddie Murphy's character enters the mix, 'Tower Heist' improves rapidly. Everything seems to get better with his entrance.

Tower Heist Blu-ray Review

blu-ray.com
6 February 2012
  • Conclusion: Tower Heist may be a poor man's Ocean's Eleven (sprinkled with just enough pointed economic angst to make it timely), but it can also be a lot of fun... if taken on its own terms. Murphy tries too hard and Broderick doesn't try hard enough, but the rest of the cast stands firm, making the film's low-rent heist a high-roller blast best served with a bucket of popcorn and low expectations.

Expert Review

FILMDUDE
26 December 2011
  • Excerpt: "Tower Heist" might not be the most complex of capers, but it does produce plenty of laughs along the way. The high calibre cast is fun to watch, the only drawback being their inability to share the screen time in satisfying amounts. Much of the entertainment comes from the ordinary hotel crew and the birth of their criminality. Clearly out of their depth, they embark on hilarious exercises to plan and prepare.

Tower Heist

dvd.nl
3 February 2014
