Excerpt: If you've seen Tree of Life, you already have a taste of what's to come in Malick's To the Wonder... The "story" is very simple; Woman falls in love with man - Man ditches her for another woman - Man goes back to original woman. Add to that a priest who's loosing his faith. Where the film shines, as with all Terrence Malick movies, is in its visuals and montage.
Excerpt: Its a Terrence Malick movie. You don't watch it for dialogue, its a movie where you don't need to listen or understand yet you get the message. You either love it or hate it. Like The Tree of Life, Terrence Malick gave the audience beautiful images of earth, how small we are and how much life there is in this world. In a way, I think Malick became spiritual over the years. The story opens with Affleck and Kurylenko's characters falling in love.
Excerpt: In his book, Cash: The Autobiography, the late Johnny Cash discusses his belief that God sends each of us angels in the form of people to help us through a difficult circumstance or simply to move us forward to another stage in life. An angel may appear in the form of a lover, a best friend, a visiting relative, or even a random person in a grocery store line who smiles at you when you are having a rough day.
