Excerpt: It may not have the respect of critics or even the Academy Awards, film enthusiasts/comedy fans will treat it as gold. Definitely underrated and pure entertainment. This picture is the complete package: a horror, documentary, fantasy, dark comedy with a touch of musical at the end. Everything in this film was just funny, engaging and provocative at the same time. Screenplay, soundtrack, special effects and artists were just brilliant.
Summary: This is essentially an ad-libbed film with a bunch of buddies set in James Franco's house during the Apocalypse. Great cameo turns from Michael Cera and Emma Watson (along with a host of other stars - many of whom die horribly). It's stupid, but in a good way - but you have to be a fan of Rogen, Hill and co. to really get the most enjoyment out of this.
Summary: god almighty this was bad. a truely awful movie its unfunny stupid rubbish. and the guy with the glasses cant act at all. this is the 2nd movie ive seen lately with emma watson in it that was rubbish but this is a whole new low . it was so bad i didn't even bother watching the ending. very rare for me.
Excerpt: Seth Rogen is a funny guy. And here, along with Evan Goldberg, he crafted not only a funny movie, but a visually legitimate movie. This is the End is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Seth Rogen created something he knew the people would like, because this movie has it all. ALL. The idea itself is just so funny.
Summary: Emma Watson and Michael Cera made this movie watchable. The one thing that really brought this movie down was all the rape jokes. If it didn't have the rape jokes it might've been a good movie.
Excerpt: There's been almost no funny 'comedies' so far in the year of 2013. But FINALLY, we have one that soars to hilarious new heights! This film brings the laughs... continuous hard laughs. To say this movie is funny is a severe understatement. Here we have six comic stars (and others) playing fictional versions of their on-screen personas, each riffing on themselves and each other. This 'meta' aspect is not the center of the film, however.
Excerpt: This is not only the best movie i have seen so far in 2013, but it is the best by alot. This movie has many different aspects and parts to it, many more than a normal movie. It's pretty ambitious. Above all, it is funny. There is hardly a minute that goes by that the theater was not laughing, myself included. It's pretty craxy and out there but to me it all worked.
Summary: This is one of the most ridiculous movies I've ever seen, but it was so fun to watch. I love all of the actors in this movie and they all played great caricatures of themselves. It wasn't the most hysterical thing I've ever seen but it had great moments.
Excerpt: This is the beginning of promising directing careers for both Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg - that is, if they continue to direct. As they mash together elements of comedy, elements of horror, and elements of action on one big delicious plate, Rogen and Goldberg craft an energizer that is equally hilarious and relentlessly entertaining.
