Great standalone Wolverine film - extended cut is better

Excerpt: A much stronger film than the previous Wolverine film, it's nice to have a summer film that doesn't forget to develop the characters and is willing to take the time to do so. Whilst essentially another standalone film from the X-Men films, it does pick up threads from that series and Famke Janssen makes a welcome cameo. The action is rather bloodless given all the blades flying around, but It does feel grounded, which is a welcome change from CGI destruction.
"Don't hit my friends!"- A Rock-Solid Improvement over 'Origins'.

Excerpt: As many people know already, Hugh Jackman has had an incredible career as Wolverine in the X-Men films. Appearing in six movies over the course of 13 years, he's played the character longer than most of the men that have appeared as James Bond. Having said all of that, it's pretty remarkable that after all this time, and following the lousy ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ that a film solely about Jackman's character could be as interesting and entertaining as ‘The Wolverine.
Excerpt: Movie: An entertaining movie focusing on what happend to Wolverine post "X-Men: The Last Stand", based on the Wolverine's adventure in Japan as in the comic books. Now, my comments on this blu-ray disc set 3D Blu-ray Disc Version: No specific "pop-out" scene to shout about. Infact nothing much to shout about on the 3D version of this film. Basically, watching it in the 2D version would've been good enough. The PQ n' AQ is quite good here.
Excerpt: There's finally an X-Men movie I DON'T like. I just couldn't get into this. It was much too long and boring. Not enough different settings to keep it interesting. I actually liked Wolverine Origins better! Rent this first. PQ and audio both top notch.
Excerpt: "The Wolverine" is a solid X-Men solo movie, that opts for character development and ninja action, rather then non-stop over the top CGI action sequences- not that there is anything wrong with non-stop over the top CGI actions sequences. If you want that look instead to the first solo Wolverine outing, the overly criticized "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." I am probably one of the few who actually really enjoyed the first Wolverine movie.
