Excerpt: A dreadful nightmare awakes Casey at babysitting job. Soon after the dream, Casey is haunted relentlessly by a boy. The boy appears everywhere, in her dreams and even in her everyday life. Casey decides to go to an ophthalmologist after her best friend notices the change of color. The ophthalmologist asks Casey if she is a twin, but Casey stated she was an only child.
Excerpt: Yes theres not much in this that we haven't seen before in other movies, but its all bundled together to give a great spooky 90 minutes of entertainment. Plenty of chills and jumps, with some great, creepy special effects too. Not much here for gore hounds, but the pace keeps things ticking along nicely, with enough tension and excitment to keep you interested. Kind of like The Exorcist on steroids. Lol. PQ is average.
Excerpt: Based on the previews I thought that this might turn out to be a slick horror flick, but boy was I wrong. I thought this movie was pretty excruciating to sit through even though it's only about 81 minutes long. The plot was paper thin, the characters forgettable and unsympathetic, and I really wanted the annoying protagonist to die within the first 5 minutes. That's usually a bad sign in any movie.
Excerpt: As a long time Horror fan I was kind of reluctant to buy this movie since I had heard so many bad things about it. But, I went ahead and bought it anyway for movie night and I have to say it was better than I expected. As far as quality goes the PQ looked very good IMO, but then again I'm not a hardcore video/visual phile, if you will. I don't own an audio system so I cant judge the SQ but it seemed fine to me.
Excerpt: To really be a horror fan,....One must understand what makes a good horror film. It is my opinion that some of the Haters,...."Ooopps" I mean raters, lack imagination. Something true horror fans will always distinguish in a good horror movie. The Unborn is within it's own right, is classic horror done right, what makes it a good horror movie?..
Excerpt: then this is perfectly watcheable. I felt that the endless jumpscares were cheap and detracted from the movie. The movie was predictable and added nothing new to the genre though I can't ever recall seeing a movie based on a demon from Jewish urban legends.. There were several sequences in this movie that were very creepy and quite scary and thats why I can't jump on the bandwagon here and say the movie sucked. For a new horror flick--The Unborn is a pretty good flick!
Summary: I've read a lot of comments on this movie, I didn't think it was all bad. I have seen better horror movies, but this certainly wasn't the worst, someone said, that it was unoriginal, but I thought that the plot was quite original, I don't recall seeing anything similar before, but then, that's my opinion. I thought Odette Yustman was a fair leading actress as Casey and I thought her best friend Romey was quite entertaining.
Excerpt: What a shame that this movie is typical run-of-the-mill PG-13 rubbish... the story has lots of potential and could have actually been something. However, it's easily noticeable that the target audience for this piece of mediocre drivel is 12 year old girls. This movie offers absolutely nothing to the horror genre and like so many of its kind is only made to draw a quick profit from a young teenage audience and then forgotten about- it's "fast food horror" for fast food...
Excerpt: Just finished watching and what I can say is not bad for a horror flick. I have seen alot worse but the Unborn was not to to bad. The PQ was pretty good and the audio was good as well. Overall a good popcorn horror flick.
Excerpt: I dont see why this movie gets hated on when it comes to story. Its a good horror movie, and there were many scenes that truly were scary. This is the first movie Ive watching a LONG time that has made me jump at parts. Both the VQ and AQ were excellent, the day scenes being vivid, and the night scenes being dark and ominous. The movie really does lack in extras. Just some deleted scenes, which didnt add MUCH to the movie anways.
