Reviews and Problems with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
Showing 1-10 of 45
Edward and Bella's movie (minor spoilers)
25 August 2013
Excerpt: Being a male over 40 I'm probably not the target audience for these kind of movies. I'm not a big fan of the series but I did watch the first 3 about a year ago and I thought they were ok. As for this one, this is Edward and Bella's movie for the first 3/4th and that large chunk is the best by far, even if it is slow by today's standards. Their relationship develops beautifully and the whole thing is filmed with care. The last quarter though takes a serious nosedive.
Excerpt: This double-dip of this love it/hate it franchise gets a mere 7 mins of new footage which really doesn't propel the story in any better direction, nor does it slow it down. BREAKING DAWN PART 1 sees this love triangle get tested yet again with the inevitable wedding and birth of the "immortal" child, only to leave with a cliffhanger till part 2. Summits blu gives another perfect PQ presentation with a strong 7.1 DTS track with just a commentary as an extra.
Summary: My my my!!! I often thought during the reading of Breaking Dawn on how they were going to make a movie on it? Low and behold the final book's adaptation arrives on the big screen. Kudos to the make up crew who made Bella's pregnant transformation look all too real, often at times Kristen Stewart almost looked anorexic (not close from real life) Newly appointed director Bill Condon gets his turn at bat as he adapts to the big screen what must've been the hardest of the...
Excerpt: "Breaking Dawn" being my least favorite of the books, I wasn't sure I would like this one. Although they did leave out a lot, I think it turned out pretty well. The wedding was beautiful, and it illustrated Jacob's struggle perfectly. The CGI is better on the werewolves this time around. PQ is pretty solid; the best PQ of all the Twilight movies so far. Audio was superb; it's 7.1 surround, so my system got a full workout.
Summary: i would have loved to have rated this movie higher than 3 stars but the problem i had with it was it just had too add the sex and the nudity and the graphic child birth seen that the other three twilight movies did not have there for i enjoyed them alot more but i must say i did like the movie other than those unconfurtable seens it was fantastic but would probably not watch it agin due to those certan areas i did not like but great flick
Excerpt: I appreciate Picture quality buy the rest of all NOT WHAT I HOPE IT TO BE movie just OK AUDIO is very disappoint I can't hear surround back and dialogs is soundless I've to increase volume to hear dialog and when I do that sound effect is to loud that's mean my neighbor will not please.
Excerpt: The movie was just ok. I don't think the needed to make this a two part movie. This could have been summed up and added with the second part. Just not enough action and too much awkwardness. I'll leave it at that. PQ - The picture was blu-ray quality. Nothing bad to say about it. AQ - The audio bit the dust though. There was very little dynamic range. The sound track wasn't much either but there wasn't much they could do with that being there was not much action.
Excerpt: With the conclusion of the twilight movies happening in the near future, we can only speculate and hope that the saga will continue with Jacob's love story. My husband allowed me to write on his page because I am a twihard. I found this last movie's cinematography beautiful. The wedding scene was breathtaking with the the play on lights and greenery. The makeup artists did a scary job making Bella wither away with her pregnancy. The birth scene was quite graphic.
Excerpt: After sitting through three previous eye slaughtering Twilight films, Breaking Dawn part 1 finally features a more grown up style plot and the eventual downfall that will occur in part 2. I've tolerated this series of films only because my wife and 2 oldest daughters have read the books and like the movies. I was fine with this entry having been a little better acted by the main actor's and the pacing of the plot unfolded with good execution.
