  • Conclusion: Bleak and glacially paced, Béla Tarr's films are most definitely not for everyone, and The Turin Horse is especially moribund, a heavy allegory on the pointlessness of life and the finality of death. It's unquestioningly one of the most beautiful films of the last few years, though, and those with the patience and philosophical mindset to endure/enjoy it will find it memorably austere.
