Excerpt: The concept is brilliant, the effect totally failed. I expected much more from this film, but against all odds, it was just a flabby fuss about nothing. You can hardly call it a thriller as I wasn't biting my nails because of any tense moments. It wasn't horror either, not even by a long shot.
Summary: The Purge brought to the table a creative idea - a 12-hour law-free timezone that allowed people to break whatever laws they wanted, including murder - and then ruined it by creating a focus that didn't make sense.
Summary: A night were a stupid kid that almost got he's family killed. The film follows a family during one of these periods as they must protect themselves from a home invasion. This movie had a good story but this movie kind of suck.
Excerpt: The whole idea of an annual 'purge' in the near future in the US is just ridiculous. And the filmmakers didn't even try to explain how the decision came about. We just landed at the beginning of the purge with a psycho boyfriend prop and the obligatory creepy neighbours.
Summary: A few people recommended this to me and I thought it sounded really interesting. Now I know I should never listen to those people again. To me it was just a boring waste of time. Now I realize I shouldn't be writing a review because I didn't really pay enough attention to tell you anything about it.
May contain spoiler...Just as well..The movie sucked anyway

Excerpt: Yea-The plot for this was asinine...1) The rioters didn't have to buy the security system..They were mad because the seller made so much money off of them .2) The security system was protecting them, so don't know why the uprising..
Summary: The Purge, while trying desperately to take a different approach, is ultimately just another typical home invasion thriller. Poor storytelling, bad acting, laughable dialogue, and a weird ending.
Summary: In the near future, everyone is a dick. Fear educated young people as they will break into your house and kill your family just because. Also, fear you neighbours, as they too want to kill you for petty reasons. An interesting concept mishandled. Could have been a lot better.
Excerpt: The Purge (2013) R In the near future, all crime has been eliminated due to The Purge. It’s one night, where, in a twelve-hour period, anybody can commit any crime and get away with it. The Sandin family is set for the night, as their house is literally a fortress.
