All over the place.
Summary: Takes a while to get going then when it does it comes to a big stop and the story line changes completely. Seems a bit all over the place somehow. Little snag was at one point the motorbike was clearly sounding as a 4 stroke engine then same bike next scene is sounding as a 2 stroke engine that to me is pretty poor.
Summary: A very very good film. Ryan Gosling is not in it long enough but the film picks up slowly into three different parts. It kept my attention all through, and it seems to depict real life scenarios. I would highly recommend this film.
Summary: If you like Derek Cianfrance's previous movie then you'll like this too. It's full of great performances and I found the story quite haunting. I went back to it a week later and watched it all again. It won't be the last time either. Gosling, Mendes and Cooper are all brilliant but special mention has to go to Dane DeHaan and the ever-brilliant Ben Mendelsohn, who should be in every as far as I'm concerned.
Summary: Although the trailor is misleading, this film is not just about Ryan Gosling. This film of 3 parts tries to empahsise the mistakes of fathers affecting their children. All parts were excellent but the 3rd part somewhat lacked speed and i felt like there was something missing. Other than that an excellent, powerful film.
Summary: Unfortuntly this is a total yawn fest. Its actually pretty good until the death and then it looses all interest and slows down to the pace of paint drying. Even the ending is a total travesty of the concept of drama. Whats it going to take for mainstream films to ever do the wrong thing?
Summary: This is a profound film. A slow burner that builds and builds. Great performances in this story of the 'sins of the father' and a generation blighted by events long past and the struggle to be freed from them. Can't give too much away but it's about the residue of the lives we choose to live - the legacy we leave behind for our children that frames their own existence. The invisible human threads that trail behind us that our children pick up. Boy, this was a great film.
Summary: Gosling starts off this movie playing his role with understated style. However, his departure leaves us watching a boring & unsophisticated story ...which goes on far too long, for no good reason. if I am right then the movie takes a long time to draw a parody across two men to see how they do/don't love their sons and the weird impact their x'd fate has on them and their families... Bar Gosling moments not something I would watch again or recommend.
Summary: Although this film was slow in places and pretty long, it had a really good storyline and was well acted so held my interest throughout, liked the fact it had a number of different stories within the one film.
Summary: The story is about a daredevil motorcyclist quits his carnival job when he learns a former lover has a son - and he now has a family. In order to provide for them, he takes on a series of bank robberies, putting all his riding skills to good use. But this puts him on a crash course with an ambitious police officer looking for a quick way to rise through the ranks of his corrupt precinct.
