Excerpt: Just watched the Lords of Salem on bluray for the first time and boy was it completely disappointing! just when i thought Rob Zombie could not get any worse then what he did with the Halloween 2 remake he goes and makes this piece of Crap.nobody can tell me the studio is to blame for his horrible use of actor's from all kinds of horror films and his horrid dialogue used in this film.there was absolutely no storytelling about how Heidi Hawthorne was related to the person...
A nice throwback to classic horror, but with some flaws.

Excerpt: "The Lords Of Salem" is for the most part a very well done horror movie. It's a throwback to a time when horror movies were truly disturbing, unnerving, uncomfortable, and creepy. This is definitely not for everyone. If you're looking for a gorefest like the "Hostel" or "Saw" movies, skip this one. If you're looking for a barrage of jump scares like the "Paranormal Activity" movies, then skip this one. "The Lords Of Salem" uses more atmospheric horror.
Excerpt: I found this film to be really interesting, and genuinely creepy. Many of the visuals are beautiful at the same time they are horrifying. Zombie has made a film that is both artistic and true to his style of filmmaking. The Blu-ray looks and sounds fantastic. (1080P with 5.1 DTS-HD MA) The only let down was in the extras department.
Excerpt: Terrible. Rob Zombie strikes out again. First there was the mediocore Halloween reboot (the director's cut is much better in my opinion than the theatrical), then there was the horrible H2 Halloween reboot sequel. Now comes this abomination. Rob Zombie has lost it. All the things that he did so well in "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects", even "Halloween", are missing from this movie. The apartment building location is creepy. Score one for Mr. Zombie.
Excerpt: If your a fan of Rob Zombie's films, then you need to own this movie. His visual style is at a all time high, and given the budget restrains, this brought more creativity than his past films. It would be nice if they included the deleted scenes he has talked about, but one can only do so much. Bottom line, this is a pure Rob Zombie film. It's creepy, directed like a boss, and different. Recommended.
