Excerpt: Movie - 1.0 Water.. Earth.. Fire.. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed when a girl and her brother discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills were great, he still had a lot to learn before he was ready to save anyone.
Excerpt: I personally thought this was a well done movie, it is the best M. Night has accomplished since "The Sixth Sense"! The Last Airbender has a unique story line similar to the cartoon series, of course though, not exact, and this is where you must keep an open mind. The cartoon series will always be better, there's no doubt about that. But M. Night has made this wonderful fictional story into a film that just sucks you in immediately. The effects were amazing.
Conclusion: I watched this with my 7 year old son who watches the TV series and I have to say I enjoyed it - its a typical action/fantasy adventure with a more interesting plotline than many. I really don't understand who some other reviewers have rated it so badly - I have seen an awful lot worse. So if you're into this sort of film then sit back and enjoy it !
Summary: There are a lot of people out there who are just spoilt rotten with what they see! Far too critical and fried imaginations! Stop watching so much TV! I loved it. Took my 7 year old son, who did point out a few differences, but he totally got invovled in the movie and it brought the cartoon to life for him. He was a big Avatar (the other Avartar) and he still enjoyed this. All those critical moaners need to learn to stop and smell the roses.
