Excerpt: I must first say that the film, sound and picture quality are excellent on this disc. Now the reason why you shouldn't buy it. Once again, here is the perfect example of why we shouldn't be buying dvd's and blu-rays that have been repackaged by Nu-Metro or Ster-Kinekor. In this case Nu-Metro has kept the formatting of the original international release, with excellent picture and sound. But they have repackaged the bluray changing the cover to include their logo.
Excerpt: This is one of the movies that could have been 4 hours long and would still be worth while watching. It is gripping and really play on the human emotion. As with any novel based movies, they have left a lot of detail including important facts mentioned in the book and carried over to the next book, out of the movie. They still manage to re-enacts the book exactly as described. Great movie.

Comments: This was a better-than-expected and reasonably entertaining movie, with a decent story, good pacing and solid performances from the leads.
Summary: The near perfect adaptation that the book deserved. Jennifer Lawrence shows that she truly is a rising star in Hollywood as she gives a flawless performance as heroine, Katniss Everdeen. Elizabeth Banks is surprising great as Effie, and Stanley Tucci solidifies himself as one of the best character actors around and one of the most underrated actors. The Hunger Games was intense and stylish. I loved it!
Review from a redbox Rental...Only 5.1 Sound Offered
23 December 2012
Excerpt: After receiving a recommendation to watch this new release from my 11 yo daughter, I rented the BD from redbox. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to enjoy the full 7.1 DTS on my system. However, the 5.1 was damn good...so I'll give the 7.1 version a "5" The grain reported wasn't a distracting issue on my 65" panny plasma, a "4.5" The only emotion I felt was when the 'black' district finally began to riot against the jack-booted 'don't-let-the-white-...
