Excerpt: Like most movies that make sequels the original story and movie was way better. The sequel was enjoyable but nothing like the original. The squeal was also a little short coming in at just one hour. The video and audio are excellent with the audio excelling a little more. As for extras no digital copy but a DVD copy of each. Less than one hour total of actual extra material but you get a a commentary for the first movie.
Excerpt: This had the potential of turning out to be one of the most interesting Disney animated features in years. It is certainly an unusual choice for a family movie. The animation is simply stunning, notable a sequence where Esmerelda prays for her people in the church, and a rousing rescue from an execution. There is also a lot of more adult themes buried within the story especially in how it portrays the central villain.
Excerpt: Disney is at it again paring one of their better known animated features with the lesser popular direct to video sequels. The Hunchback of Notre Dame I & II grace the high-def format with a solid looking first chapter and sloppy seconds. The simple story of Quasimodo the "feared" hunchback of the bell tower in famed Notre Damn goes from zero to hero in both these stories.
Excerpt: This review is for the first movie only. Sequels are always terrible, so I wont even talk about it. The first Hunchback of Notre Dame has impacted my life since I was seven years old. The music, and the style is just breathtaking as well as the animation. So incredibly well done. I cant think of it being any better. This movie is so under appreciated and disowned that it is sad. I would say that it is up there with Lion King or Beauty and the Beast.
