Very good Australian revenge film

yeltzmanmatt, IMDb
11 June 2013
  • Summary: This is a story of one man's revenge against the people he holds responsible for the death of his daughter. It's a grim and grimy revenge tale full of bloody violence. It won't appeal to everyone and my wife ceased watching after 5 minutes but if you like these kinds of movie then you are likely to...

headhunter01, blu-ray.com
9 May 2012
  • Excerpt: Agree with Zombie...in the fact that every time the dude went to exact his revenge, you get a black screen. He has a hammer in his hand, ya thinking hes going to whack the guy in the head..Black screen..then you see the killers bloody face.

A lioness will do anything to protect her cub. So will the Lion King, and he has bigger claws...

oneguyrambling, IMDb
8 April 2011
  • Summary: Getting the obvious out of the way The Horseman has nothing to do with horses or the men who ride them. I cannot fathom what the title has to do with anything to be honest. If anyone can help me please do.

A bloody good time!

Minimejer05, blu-ray.com
22 September 2010
  • Excerpt: Really did enjoy this one. One thing I really liked was how fast paced it was. A lot of revenge flicks try and mope around the story and really make you feel bad for the person doing the killing.

What happens when revenge goes wrong?

mistabobdobolina, IMDb
30 August 2010
  • Summary: It's a very rare revenge flick that's willing to explore what can happen if the often ill-informed protagonists go off the rails in their quest. It's even rarer one that's actually willing to acknowledge that what starts out as a quest for righteous retribution can end up blighting innocent lives.

I don't understand all the hype!!

ZombieFanatic, blu-ray.com
5 August 2010
  • Excerpt: After all the hype I heard about this from this site and Fangoria's review, I almost bought it but instead gave it a rental and I am glad I did. If you are expecting a typical revenge flick like Taken or Revenge or ultra low budget exploitation like They Call Her One Eye (Thriller: A Cruel Picture)...

Brilliantly made...

joe dredd, IMDb
24 June 2010
  • Summary: but this is essentially an exploitation film. The most outstanding thing is the lead actors performance which was pretty amazing. I was expecting more from the film after the first half an hour or so, but the film never achieves the depth that Peter Marshall's performance suggests.

Simultaneously Gripping and Devastating

aeric_7734, blu-ray.com
17 June 2010
  • Excerpt: All I knew going into the Horseman was that Harry Knowles liked it a lot, and it had gotten some exceptionally good press during the 2008 SXSW festival. I liked the trailer, though, a lot, and the cover to the DVD is one of the more compelling that I've seen, so I dropped the $20 on the disc and...

This father is one mean, mad mother.

tyler-and-jack, IMDb
12 May 2010
  • Summary: A down-and-dirty revenge flick from down under, The Horseman does a fine job of building sympathy for it's main characters alongside some real moments of stomach-turning nastiness. Peter Marshall plays Christian, an average guy who works as a pest controller.
