Summary: The story is about a typical high school full of typical cliques and characters - until the teachers and students start acting different - and a handful of students discover an alien parasite. Now all they have to do is find a way to stop it. This movie is scary and gross. Robert Rodriguez has a odd look to he's movies like go watch planet terror and the spy kids.
Excerpt: Director Robert Rodriguez and writer Kevin Williamson combine to bring us this modern retelling of the classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers with a few exceptions of course. But with a then fairly unknown cast of Jordana Brewster, Josh Hartnett, Famke Jenson and Elijah Wood and seasoned performers Robert Patrick and Piper Laurie, THE FACULTY is pure popcorn fun.
Excerpt: Apparently the biggest surprise with this movie is that Echo Bridge finally did a decent job on a Blu-ray release. AQ and PQ will not disappoint. Colors are vibrant and sub does get a workout. Audio is incorrect on the insert to the advantage of the buyer. There is a lossless English DTS-HD Master 5.1 track. THE FACULTY will not disappoint either Sci-Fi or Robert Rodriguez fans. There's no extras but there weren't any on the DVD either. For $5.99 you can't go wrong.
Excerpt: Echo Bridge has gotten a reputation as a horrible distributor for films on Blu-Ray, though I was pleasantly surprised by their quality release of The Faculty. While the film isn't completely original (The Breakfast Club meets Body Snatches being a popular quote), Kevin Williamson's script does deliver. The characters are developed nicely, and the film doesn't seem to drag. The audio fills out quite nicely, and the video transfer is strong. Could it be better?

Excerpt: I was able to pick up the new copy this week at Best Buy for 5.99. Surprisingly found it in the bargain bin. And yes it it the 2012 release. Being a huge "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" fan, I realy enjoyed watching this movie. It's basically a teen version of the Body Snatchers. Likable characters, and solid acting, make this an above average horror/sci-fi flick. PQ - was very good, occasional soft shots, but a very clean print.
The Faculty infects Blu-ray in a fairly decent release.

Excerpt: I loath "Echo Bridge", flat out. They tend to release shoddy discs and are a notorious disease of the High Definition Format. Even with the temptation of upgrading my DVD to this Blu-ray release for only $5, I had my doubts. So, I caved... I gave it a shot out of pure enjoyment for this film. With all my doubts and anger, I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of this Disc. The video is actually quite acceptable.
Excerpt: Elijah Wood and the usual collection of high school stereotypes begin to suspect that the school is being taken over by aliens. Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets Buffy in one of Robert Rodriguez's early Hollywood projects. Unfortunately he obviously had not made his mark on the establishment yet and lacked the confidence to make this film his own; as a result it comes across as a very generic teen horror movie.
Summary: Hard to get behind this sci-fi film fully. The plot is a little far-fetched and the action a little dumbed down. The cast is full of young actors at the start of their careers and they are all very watchable, but the film never quite picks up enough steam to be fully horrific or interesting, as I think Rodriguez intended it to be.
