The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec

DVD Talk
17 September 2013
  • Conclusion: The Extraordinary Adventures Of Adèle Blanc-Sec doesn't go for a whole lot more than slick, super-fun high adventure but on that level it's a pretty great success. It's charming, it's light, it's great entertainment, never striving for anything more than that and never really needing to. The art direction is superb and the cast are pretty much all perfect in their roles. It's occasionally quirky enough to stand out from the pack and Shout!

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec: Director's Cut

High-Def Digest
17 September 2013
  • Conclusion: A fun, light-hearted, and delightful fantasy adventure based on the Jacques Tardi comic book series of the same name, 'The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec' is one of Luc Besson's finer efforts in recent memory. Starring the lovely Louise Bourgoin as the adventurous and spunky Adèle, the film charms with fanciful visuals, imaginative characters and a whimsical energy.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec (Blu-ray)

DVD Verdict
13 August 2013
  • Excerpt: The superhero movie currently rules the roost of the summer blockbuster season. So entrenched is this dominance that it's hard to remember they got their start in comics. Even in the world of comics, superheroes dominate so much that many people don't even realize there's a whole world of comics outside the spandex-clad superpeople. Of course, there is. France in particular has nurtured a wide variety of non-superhero comics culture.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec

Family Friendly Gaming
22 July 2013
  • Excerpt: What do you get when you mix a headstrong lady, the year of our Lord 1912, and a pterodactyl? The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec is what comes out on Blu-ray and DVD. This French film has been dubbed with English speaking voices. So do not expect the mouth movements and voices to match.
