Conclusion: The Cold Light of Day becomes so patently ridiculous so quickly that it undercuts any chance of developing real suspense, or even a palpable sense of threat surrounding Cavill's character. More akin to a cartoon or graphic novel come to life, the film has some well staged action sequences and some really pretty locations, but in terms of storytelling offers little more than a halfhearted joke.

He doesn’t have much of a connection with his dad who works at the embassy and that he’s constantly hanging on the phone to keep track of what’s going on with his company that’s in financial difficulties isn’t helping the atmosphere much either.
Excerpt: Bruce Willis’ career has long been characterized by consistent quantity interspersed with rare, glorious moments of quality; as Nicolas Cage can attest, prolificacy and lack of discrimination go hand in hand. Willis has made a lot of movies like the brutally generic thriller The Cold Light Of Day , and he’ll likely go on to make many more.
