  • Summary: 'The Call' is a severely mediocre thriller. It lacks the actual thrill. It's routine movie making all around. The portion in the middle that involves the girl being in the trunk of the kidnapper's car is where my interest peaked.

  • Excerpt: I thought this was a great movie. It was pretty good for a Saturday night at home with the wife. I bought it for my wife and her best friend to watch and I found myself into the movie. I can say the acting was pretty darn good and I feel that it will be enjoyed by many.

  • Summary: The Call is a solidly entertaining film with a strong performance by Halle Berry and slick direction by Brad Anderson - up until the moronic ending. It's a break-neck action film with lots of crackling suspense and a pretty scary bad guy, but the film's dumbass climax kind of ruins it.

Answer it...maybe

Abdrewes, blu-ray.com
25 June 2013
  • Excerpt: How a 911 operator and other types of public servants cope with the exacting pressures of a given day is beyond me. I'm sure the job in fact isn't as exaggerated as recent films The Call and End of Watch make them out to be, but situations such as those are not outside of the realm of possibility...

  • Excerpt: Pretty good suspenseful movie. Kept me interested all the way through. Original idea and good acting. Disappointed by the picture quality. The black levels are awful and the picture is much too light.
