Interesting Movie, great veteran actors and amazing looking newcomer..

Excerpt: This Blu-Ray is Codefree (A,B,C) and contains a german soundtrack (mono). Unbelievable, this Disc contains also german subtitles and the 2 two-part "Behind The Caine Mutiny" has also german subtitles. Another interesting Bonus part is the audio-commentary by Richard Pena and Ken Bowser. Hm... I don't know what I have expected.
Excerpt: Disregard both of the comments posted below. The high-definition transfer is very good, up to the standards set by Sony for catalog releases. It is fairly obvious that the other posters do not know or understand how 3-strip Technicolor should and does look. Buy with confidence.
Excerpt: WOW, what can I say. I expected a HELL of a lot better than this, especially from Sony. I've only got about a quarter of the way through and I'm like, "am I watching the upconverted DVD", cause this stinks. The movie was never pretty to begin with, but this is a minor upgrade from the DVD.
Excerpt: This film is a classic in the true sense of the word. Bogart as Queeg is one of the most memorable characters in moviedom. Sony did not do this film justice in it's blu ray release. There is grain throughout, as I would have expected, but it is still extremely very very soft. This is evidenced in the scene when Queeg has his first meeting with the officers. I was disappointed, as Sony has always been great with their blu rays PQ.
