Summary: I will admit this is the first time I have seen star wars. Well I have seen bits and pieces over the years but not a whole episode. So I bought this to be able to see the whole thing in order. So I did watch it in order and I loved it. Jarjar is very funny love that guy. I did find chewbaka annoying though. I almost shut it off half way through episode 5 when chewy would not shut up.
Summary: Still the best way to finally view the movies in high definition (other than television). Obviously, avoid this version if you didn't like the prequel movies. Still, this is a great set to own if you want to introduce your kids to the series from start to finish.
Excerpt: I hadn't seen these movies in a long, long time. I am a huge fan of SF but never thought to go back to them, especially after watching Episodes 1,2,3. I forgot how good the older movies were. I know that some people were unhappy with the changes Lucas made but I am not fan enough to comment, although I would have been happy not seeing Luke's vision of Anakin standing beside Obi or Yoda. My wife had not seen them all the way through and was really impressed also.
Excerpt: Lets face it....the original trilogy is loved by many if not all sci-fi fans, and when I mean original....I mean it's theatrical cuts. Ever since Lucas brought back the "Special Editions" of the films back in 1997 he has messed around with what is already perfect. STOP IT ALREADY!!!! Lucas we get it....technology is advanced and you want to go back and put in some new stuff, but it's not necessary AT ALL!....But what did he do? He had to add NOOOOOOO!!!!
not perfect but wat more could you ask for? Still highly recommended a

Excerpt: Arguably the most awaited blu ray release yet and boy does it deliver! I can honestly say star wars has never looked better especially the originals. Here is a more in-depth look of the individual movies. Episode 1- Probably my least favorite of the saga but still great nonetheless. The cgi yoda is a nice addition even though yoda does not appear much. As far as pq goes, this is the worst yet it still looks good and surpasses its dvd counterpart.
Summary: Look we have all heard by now the touch ups that Lucas has done to the movie. Changing things here and there so its not the classic that we saw back in the 70's and 80's. Lets look at what we got The bluray transfer is great. The visuals are outstanding from the pod race to death star explosions. Its mostly digitally made the finally ones with HD it really pops. The sound is done perfectly. That is if you have a good theater system.

Excerpt: Having watched 'A New Hope', 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi', I can proudly say Star Wars has never looked or sounded so good. Watching 'A New Hope' was absolutely stunning, and felt like I was watching it for the first time. The audio is actually a 7.0 out of 5.0 but the rating system doesn't go that high. I felt every swing of the lightsaber, every word that was spoken and most of all -- every blast off was enormous.
Excerpt: first class job on the movies that are 30 yrs old. all people that give bad feed back go cry in another room. these movies look fantastic and the audio first class, i love the transfer way way better than dvd and if you cant see that they look better GO BUY A GOOD TV . i have nothing but good things to say on this collection 1 of the all time must have period. enjoy it and thumbs up to mr lucas .
Excerpt: This set is amazing, if this is how the movies originally came out, nobody would be bitching about "it's not the original". Only write a review if you actually bought the set, not because you're some die hard fanboy who wants to lower the rating because he can't get exactly what he wants. That's completely childish. The PQ and AQ on this set are amazing, there are a ton of extras and while the prequel trilogy wasn't the best, the original trilogy makes up for it.
