Summary: Beware of auteur directors retaining too much control over their films. Like the first instalment of the reboot there is a lot to like about this Star Trek sequel. The cast is good with Zachary Quinto’s Spoc the standout character, the action sequences are electrifying and a lot of effort has gone in to make the future look real. However like the first film this suffers from extreme script shonkiness.
Summary: Loved this film as it had great acting, action scenes and at times was quite emotional, particularly near the end. As a consequence of JJ Abrams great directing I believe the Star Trek franchise, like Star Trek, is in safe hands!
Summary: a super prequel. I wasn't sure about seeing this but was thoroughly absorbed by it in the first few scenes. Uncanny likeness of the characters (in terms of appearance and mannerisms) to the original cast (how do they do that?) and the plot and effects are so good.
