Excerpt: A pair of genetic biologists succeed in splicing the DNA of various creatures with that of a human being and the resulting life form begins to take over their lives as they try to hide their secret experiment. Splice is very much in the old “mad scientists play God and reap the consequences” school of horror stories, giving the Frankenstein formula a modern sci-fi spin.
Summary: It seemed interesting at first. I even put aside totally unconvincing and cold, much more buddy than marital relationship between Polley and Brody, for the sake of their curious experiment, expecting to see some important issues raised. But as everything seemed wrong also from the very start, it couldn't develop better either - movie took wrong turn everywhere it could.
Excerpt: The two lead characters, supposedly brilliant scientists Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) take their DNA tampering to the next level by mixing human and animal DNA with disastrous results, as you might expect. The resulting creature Dren (Delphine Chaneac) evolves at an alarming rate into a chrome-domed woman with wings, gills and a very nasty sting at the end of her tail that sprouts out when she gets angry.
Summary: I really expected to be watching another piece of crap like The Human Centipede.but Splice was pretty good.It had enough to keep me wondering what was gonna happen next.I kinda figured out the ending during the middle of the movie
Summary: Three fourths of these reviews hate the movie and whine about the idiot decisions of the scientists. Well of COURSE they made idiotic decisions! Where's the film if they made perfectly sane decisions? What kind of film is that? I actually thought the film was effing brilliant. I think it took a familiar premise and retooled it. The performances of Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley were exemplary, as always.
Excerpt: It’s unfortunate that Splice is not going to be one of my favorite movies of the year, because honestly, it easily could have been. It could have been but it will not because of some major problems. The film is about a couple genetic engineers who splice Animal DNA with Humane DNA. Out of this experiment comes Dren. This character, or creature, is where the movie could have succeeded, but instead went in the opposite direction.
I cannot believe I sat through the whole thing without walking out.

Summary: I saw this movie just tonight at the "Second Run" Cheap theater for $1.75. I was ROBBED. This is by far the worst movie I'v seen in years. At some point, I'm sure I've seen another movie this bad, but I can't think of any at the moment. OK, so let's get to the reasons this movie completely sucked.
