Excerpt: Splice seems like it wants to say something. Two eager young scientists create new life, a bizarre blob-like creature that carries enormous value to their pharmaceutical higher-ups. In the process, Clive (Adrian Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) create another being, this one with distinct human properties. With this set-up, Splice may be headed to say something about corporate greed, playing with god, or maybe the value of life itself.
