Summary: A fantastic film, both as a superhero film and as a film in general; SPIDER-MAN 2 is (still) one of Marvel's best movies. It's among the best of it's genre if not the best, everything that working in the first film is expanded in this second one. The thing that really stands out to me about this film is the growth and development of the story and characters. I think this film taps into the depth and emotion of the story.
Excerpt: Spider-Man 2 is considered by many to be an improvement on the original, and I think that's a very accurate suggestion. By eliminating some of the flaws of the first, and improving some of the strengths of the first, Spider-Man 2 surpassed the original, and is one of the best super hero films ever created.
Summary: Spiderman 2 is undeniably the best of the franchise. With the familiar and cliched origin story out of the way, the film presents a very interesting dilemma of Tobey Maguire's character adjusting to his new identity and fighting new demons. Some of the acting and set pieces still verge on the ludicrous, but the film is much more dramatically grounded.
Excerpt: Again directed by Sam Raimi, written by the innovative screenwriter Alvin Sargent and developed by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Michael Chabon. It is the second film in the Spider-Man film franchise based on the fictional Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It saw the return of Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and James Franco as Harry Osborn.
Excerpt: Peter Parker begins to find the life of a super hero a rather thankless task and increasingly stressed by his inability to balance work, school and fighting crime he decides to quit being Spiderman. Unfortunately he does not count on a disastrous scientific experiment that turns an altruistic genius into a mechanically enhanced megalomaniac! Spiderman builds on a fine original and delivers all it promised and more.
Excerpt: Some of the original cast are back. Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus/Dr. Octavius was really good, the plot was decent and effects were believable. This film had more action sequences and drama to the life of Peter Parker. Some parts were too much talk and not explained well. If only they combined the action and Doc Ock to the first film, then you have the best Spider-Man film created.
