Excerpt: Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro) has stolen a massive diamond, which has many people interested in his person, even some that don’t know why. He arrives in London and after phoning Cousin Avi (Dennis Farina), he meets with Doug the Head (Mike Reid) and tries to appraise the stone, but before he can do anything he has a bet to place.
Conclusion: 'Snatch' is an okay movie. It's got plenty of style and a couple of cool sequences, but not much else. If you're dazzled by the chaotic, style-over-substance filmmaking of director Guy Ritchie, then you'll probably love this disc. It's got a nice bump in quality on the video spectrum and the audio is quite good.
Conclusion: With every cockeyed element coming together for a somewhat indecipherable but altogether entertaining film with plenty of replay value, Snatch is not only a creature of its own definition but a film unique in most every regard, a wonderful change of pace in a sea of mediocrity and copycat pictures.
Excerpt: No matter how much you love violence, you are still a sick bastard. True, the chickens may never fly, but a tuxedo will always make you one fine looking, hot mama . I am spouting nonsense…. But its entertaining nonsense… and you are still reading aren’t you? You now know what it is like to see Snatch , a Mr. Madonna (Guy Ritchie) film. Yep, Snatch is nonsense, pointless, meaningless nonsense. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t good.
Conclusion: Filmen: Guy Ritchie hade sin storhetsperiod kring millennieskiftet med suveräna Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells och den här filmen Snatch. Med rapp dialog, vrickade karaktärer och ett vansinnigt snabbt tempo la han världen under sig och kunde dra sig tillbaka med en fet plånbok hemma hos Madonna och smida planer. Men sen hände... ingenting. Efter åtta års navelludds-pillande lyckades han förra året klämma ur sig hyggliga RocknRolla . Men nu tillbaka till Snatch.
