Excerpt: I agree with the video and audio ratings given by the site reviewer, and the user consensus. The movie looks and sounds great. The extras are typical, and nothing really stands out as making any particular BR release a must-own over the others. As for the BR.COM review.... how do you have 36 screen shots, and yet not one decent picture of the Trans Am? Not one single picture of it. And even worse, not one single screen grab of Sally Field in her jeans!
Excerpt: The Blues Brothers 100th Anniversary Universal got 4.5 stars for video quality and this is better, so deserves at least the same. Audio is also solid with some very nice trans am sounds I loved Smokey and the Bandit when I was growing up and my brother and I would constantly trade Sheriff Buford T Justice impressions.
Excerpt: Smokey and the Bandit is one of my all-time favorites. I grew up watching this over and over and in those days HBO was new and this movie played almost daily so I also learned to curse because of it. This is like a fine wine and gets better with age. Burt Reynolds became a mega-star because of this movie and along with it's sequel became the iconic good'old boy films of the 70's. White Lightning and Gator are the other two films.
Summary: When I was little I use to hate this movie & the only thing I liked about it was Burt Reynold's Trans Am & Jerry Reed. After watching it now, I can't understand why.The car chases weren't only awesome but sometimes hilarious & The cast of characters were great as well especially Jackie Gleason & Big Enos & Little Enos
Summary: A really fun film, but I'm not going to elevate it beyond that. I will say that the sequels get worse as they go along, so I recommend sticking with this one as it is the most competent of the bunch.
Summary: This movie start with the bet to driver with the truck full of beers from one side of USA to another! One guy drives that truck , and other guy drivers pontiac trans am. That guy start breakin the law so cops follow that guy so first guy can come to the other side USA with beers!
