Excerpt: Safe House Blu-Ray Release Date: June 5th Movie Release Year: 2012 Studio: Universal Length: 115 Minutes MPAA Rating: R Release Country: United States Movie Rating: 4.0* Denzell Washington plays former CIA Agent Tobin Frost who went rogue on them an collected some info that could hurt his superiors...
Excerpt: Tobin Frost: "I'm already in your head". Safe House is about a house under the protection of the CIA becomes a target and it is up to the facility's house sitter to extract the criminal in hiding and take him to a secure location.
Summary: A very solid action thriller, Safe House looked a bit Bourne-esque to me, with the plot revolving around CIA, with it being corrupt. its agents betraying each other and some "social stealth action" with main characters evading baddies using crowds.
Summary: The film provides the great acting of Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds' poor talent. Although in some ways the film is entertaining, in other respects doesn' t exceed expectations. Safe House is an inconclusive film.
Excerpt: Considering the two headliners and some of the supporting cast, one would expect Safe House to be close to Oscar worthy but as the story unfolds within the first 5 mins, you realize the outcome before that character gets introduced.
Excerpt: One of the best films of 2012 so far in my own honest opinion! This is my kind of film you know the one with a kickass trailer and then the movie is twice as good? Safe House is one of those films.
Summary: The spy vs. spy plot is somewhat predictable (you can kind of anticipate most of twists from a mile away,) but the film's brutal action sequences are kinetic and the acting pairing of Reynolds and Washington holds a unique power that makes the movie better than its source material.
Good movie... Takes an hour to get through the menu

Excerpt: I really enjoyed this movie. It's an action flick without the over-the-top insanity the movies like "live Free, Die Hard" have made popular. The action is gritty and more or less believable. Also the setting (South Africa) is fresh and far from the cliche movie cities of NYC, LA, Paris, London, etc.
Excerpt: I almost went to see Safe House in the theater, and barely resisted the urge to blind-buy the Blu-ray, and I'm glad that I waited. After borrowing the movie from a friend, I know that I saved myself $20. It's not that Safe House is terrible, it's just formulaic, mediocre, and badly-written.
