Conclusion: Bret Easton Ellis has throngs of fans that love his stuff, but I just don't see what all the raving is about. 'The Rules of Attraction' is a narcissistic wasteland populated by degenerates, ingrates, and idiots. No one here gives a crap about anything.
Conclusion: Roger Avary's Rule of Attraction arrives on Blu-ray with a handsome, if not overly impressive, transfer. More importantly, however, this disc contains the uncut version of the film which isn't yet available in the US. Take a look at it if you liked the film. Did you find this review helpful?
Excerpt: At the centre of The Rules Of Attraction is a love triangle between three people who would be outraged if you told them they could feel something as cliched as love. These are the jaded elite of Camden University, an Ivy League college which is home to the most privileged young people in America.
Excerpt: When writing about a movie, I often try to write in the mood and tone conveyed by the film itself. However, I hope you’ll forgive me if I don’t try to get very in sync with Rules of Attraction , since I’ve no desire to pop pills and hump my keyboard while vomiting on my monitor.
