Excerpt: After Richard the Lionheart dies during a final attack in France after the Crusades, Robin Longstride and his friends head back to England only to stumble upon Godfrey and French soldiers who’ve ambushed English knights returning the crown.
Excerpt: There’s a lot of action to open Robin Hood , a mish-mash of battle scenes across the countryside with little to no connection on the viewer. To be clear, they start the film off, and they’re in forests, storming the castles, and there is no real identifier to any of it.
Conclusion: Robin Hood has eluded a variety of filmmakers through the years, despite its seemingly timeless appeal. Watching this humongous and often bloated version, I couldn't help but wonder what the original Nottingham concept might have been like.
Summary: Ridley Scott är en ojämn regissör. Samtidigt som han imponerat med filmer som "Blade Runner", "Thelma & Louise" och "G.I. Jane" så har han även gjort magplask som "A good year", "White Squall" och "G.I. Jane". Oftast kompetent, ibland tråkig.
