Superb Music and Animation with a Lackluster Story
31 August 2014
Excerpt: Rio has some great music, superb animation by Blue Sky, fantastic voice cast, and even an intriguing story. It's guranteed to entertain the hell out of little kids, and some adults. But, like most Blue Sky animated films, it just doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Pixar, or even DreamWorks (and that's sad).
Summary: The story is about a macaw from Minnesota, pampered and nerdy, finds himself learning to become a true bird of paradise when he finds himself in Rio de Janeiro. This movie has beautiful animation and enjoyable songs.
Summary: Starts right off with a beautiful song, bam! I never felt so worried with a character so quickly, not joking, took only two minutes. I wonder how the made birds become the most adorable and lovable creatures in the world. So, the movie is all colorful and bright, we all know what Pixar does, but they exceeded my expectations this time. The characters and plot have a certain complexity for a family movie, that's a great thing.
Excerpt: Rio is a fun family-friendly 3D film. The movie is a visual treat. It is very colorful and looks great in 3D. This was one of the first 3D Blu-ray discs in our growing library. At a price significantly lower than most 3D Blu-ray discs, Rio is a smart addition to your 3D movie collection.
Excerpt: Rio is a very funny and cute animated movie that lacks in story. Blu is a macaw who is taken to Brazil to find a mate. He is kidnaped and must find his owner. The video on the disc was outstanding. The image was crystal clear and the colors popped out of the screen. Parts of this movie looked like it was in 3d when I was watching it in 2d. The 3D on this movie was excellent. It is truly one of the best 3D presentations that I have ever seen.
Summary: A blue macaw is sent to Rio de Janeiro to meet a female bird of his kind. They are the last two of their specie and now they have to breed. But a supposed enjoyable trip turns the other way around as some other guys got interest of the two birds- plus Blu, the male bird, cannot fly. *** I wasn't expecting much, and yes, I saw not that much. This animation is averagely awesome, and averagely enjoyable. Over-all colors and graphics, not bad.
Excerpt: Rio is a movie i thought should have been made a longtime ago. Ive been waiting for an animation movie solely about birds for the longest time, I figured the colors and scenery would look stunning and they can get really creative with a lot of different species of birds. Well 2011 came along and Rio hit theaters, I couldn't be more excited! however once i actually saw really i couldn't believe how bad they missed.
