  • Summary: The first half an hour from the movie was indeed awkward weird script and actor reactions the special effects are, mostly a mess. i haven't read the books but i can clearly see that this movie is made in a kind of an awkward way, the dialogues being hindered by god knows what reasons. I'd say the only actor that seems convincing is Akasha herself (Aaliyah).

  • Summary: well.. just re-read the novel again after a long time after my first book of it got caught in the house fire.. and.. still.. I am extremely upset on how the movie went.. How I wish there was a remake of this with the characters "SOMEHOW" even matching of those in the Book.. seems like the only things they got right here are the names of the characters.. But not their soul or their characteristic at all.. **sigh** so sad..

The Mother of All Vampires.

Guydowood, blu-ray.com
12 April 2013
  • Excerpt: 1994's Interview with a Vampire was a critical and bankable hit. Tom Cruise wowed audiences as the Vampire Lestat and even won over author Anne Rice for his portrayal. Nearly a decade later a sequel of sorts with Queen of the Damned comes and goes quickly. The main issue is the casting. Stewart Townsend is no Tom Cruise nor does he give the flair to Lestat such as Cruise did.

  • Summary: A solid decent movie with a vampire theme. Main character is portrayed as a more extroverted vampire in the movie. It has some nice story telling and character background story. And also some decent action scenes, but too few of them. It is not a scary movie at all, and more of a documentary almost with some sprinkling. the main actor was pretty good, and the guy that played marius.

Possibly the worst book to film ever made

GlenR, blu-ray.com
24 September 2012
  • Excerpt: This isn't actually a movie. It's a very long MTV music video. The story is disjointed. The characters are completely forgettable and the acting is even worse. It get my nomination for worst movie made from a book ever.

  • Summary: This is a delightfully horrendous B movie. I was awaiting the appearance of Bruce Campbell the entire time. Unfortunately, he doesn't show up...maybe in the sequel.

By any other title . . .

  • Summary: This would be a good movie. If you haven't read the Vampire Chronicles and you're into vampires, you'll probably enjoy it. If you are an Anne Rice fan like me and have read the Chronicles, this movie will probably dissapoint you like it did me. They changed so many things that they didn't need to, even who made Lestat. They gave Armand blond hair and blue eyes and Lestat brown hair (so much for his infamous golden locks eh? heh). . .

  • Summary: This is a great sequel to Interview with the Vampire, though you don't have to see it first. The movie is awesome and the soundtrack is also a must have. The DVD comes with some good extended concert scenes and music videos.
