Peter Gabriel: Live in Athens 1987 (Blu-ray)

DVD Verdict
6 October 2013
  • Excerpt: Peter Gabriel has been a staple of the pop scene for so long that it's hard to remember a time when he wasn't making music. Gabriel got his start as a founding member of the seminal band Genesis in 1967 and spent over a decade making classic rock with Mike Rutherford and company. Gabriel stayed in Genesis for almost twelve years (as both the lead singer and one of the main songwriters), departing in 1975 to branch out as a solo artist.

Peter Gabriel: Live In Athens Blu-ray Review

  • Conclusion: Peter Gabriel Live in Athens 1987 is going to be a near religious experience for Gabriel fans, especially those who are still holding onto ancient copies of P.O.V. or last year's DVD. This is certainly one of the most impressive releases we've yet seen from Eagle Rock, a "little" label that continues to blow music fans (like I am) away with its often incredible offerings. This Blu-ray offers great video and stupendous audio and comes Highly recommended .

  • Excerpt: I’m going to assume that anyone taking the time to read this review is already familiar with this deservedly legendary concert.  For those who aren’t, take my advice if you’re any kind of Peter Gabriel fan and run – don’t walk – and find yourself a copy of this Blu-ray right now.  Then you can come back and read the rest of my review.  I won’t be offended.
