Kinda stupid... but still a fun piece of entertainment

Ep4292, blu-ray.com
22 January 2015
  • Excerpt: Elements of the story itself are kinda silly but I feel like that is more the fault of the source material than the filmmakers. The movie as a whole is an entertaining experience and feels well put together and relatively well acted.

  • Excerpt: This was not a great movie but still good and enjoyable. It was super slow loading the first time. I think it downloads something the first time and my Internet connection is slow.

Very childish

RavensFan, blu-ray.com
6 August 2013
  • Excerpt: The dialog in the movie was just awful. I thought the script was written by 12 year olds in many instances. The fight scenes were not very believable and the whole movie seemed as though they rushed to get everything done. Or everything was done on a cheap budget.

  • Excerpt: I really like this movie, though it might not be everyone's cup of tea. I haven't read the books so I can't judge about it being faithful or not. The acting is good and so are the special effects. The video is really good, it has a little grain which gives it a bit of a theater effect, which I love.

Not For Everyone, but Worth a Look

  • Excerpt: Film Rating: 6.5/10 What a surprise. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief was not as bad as I thought it would be. Of course the big comparison has been made a thousand times, and while it's certainly no Harry Potter, I don't think it doesn't matters in the slightest.

  • Excerpt: With Harry Potter ending his movie run and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy out of the way, and The Chronicles of Narnia struggling to stay around, along comes Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lighting Thief. Part 1 of a supposed 5 part series based on the books.

  • Summary: The movie was a complete disaster!!! All Percy Jackson book fans loook away dont bother seeing it because its a waste of time, money, and a complete waste of rick Riordan's awsome writting skills. (which is the best thing since Harry Potter, Avatar, and CBS news!!!!!!

  • Summary: Let me first start out with saying that I have read the book multiple times and loved it (even if it's a little lower than my reading level). Having said that, this movie was terrible. The story line was witty and humorous in the book, while it was taken too seriously in the movie.
