Summary: The story is about a couple moves into a typical suburban tract house, but soon begins to experience strange phenomena at night. Setting up a video camera, they hope to capture evidence of the force, demonic or otherwise, that is terrorizing them. This movie is lame at Jump scares and story. this movie is just not scary at all just laughable and boring.
Excerpt: A young couple decide to film themselves at home in the hope that it will shed light on a series of unexplained incidents. Yet another dreary, pointless entry in the Blair Witch-style wobbly-cam canon, Paranormal Activity is a pseudo documentary cataloguing a series of bumps in the night as two mildly irritating middle-class Americans are plagued by a pesky home invading demon.
Excerpt: This series gets mixed reviews, some people hate them, some people love them. I love em! This movie was an indie movie the director made with his friends in 2006. He screened it at festivals and to family and friends and they were all terrified at what they saw. In 2009 Paramount Pictures bought the rights to the movie and screened it at college towns, and if it wasn't playing in your area you could Demand It for a wide release.
Summary: This movie was just an ordinary movie, or it just meant to be like that, I am not sure. There were some thrilling moments that actually is able to scare anybody. But there was simply no story. The actors came from no where but kudos to them. Overall, a very mediocre movie.
Summary: This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is okay, not "the scariest film I have ever seen" but, the end where the body flies to the camera did make me jump a little. But, I wouldn't really watch it unless someone made me..
Excerpt: Katie and Micah are haunted by a supernatural occurrence in their home. Katie hires a psychic, Dr. Fredrichs (Mark Fredrichs), who assesses that she is being haunted not by a ghost, but by a demon. It’s funny how the couple always leaves their door open as if persuading the demon to do its thing in front of the camera. Not sure why Dr. Fredrichs mentioned that they couldn’t do anything even if they left the house. Alternate ending was not as scary as the one on the film.
Summary: I don't know if I can write a review telling you how god awful this movie was. First of all, it wasn't even scary. Rule number one, if your going to make a scary movie, don't give audio and visual cues when something is about to happen and the viewer can prepare itself for the scare. And seriously, didn't we go through this 10 years ago with The Blair Witch Project (1999). A movie that was so full of hype that it couldn't possibly live up to it.
Summary: This movie was given a 3 star rating for its comedy. As a horror or thriller movie it fails miserably especially considering we're in 2011. This felt like a movie made that could have been made and become popular in the 90's. This would be useful to a psychology student to watch and see the neurotic behavior of an individual who believes they are being chased by a ghost - but the fact the This movie was given a 3 star rating for its comedy.
