Entertaining but not as "great and powerful" as The Wizard of Oz.

Excerpt: 'The Wizard of Oz' holds a special place in many people’s hearts around the world. One of the all-time classic films ever made. For many, Victor Fleming's 1939 classic sparked interests for those to be involved in cinema. When I heard that Disney was making a prequel to it, I was fairly intrigued, especially when Robert Downy Jr. was up for the lead role of the “great and powerful” man himself.
Summary: A small-time circus magician with questionable ethics finds himself whisked away to Oz where he thinks he has found his ticket to fame and fortune. Yet the newly minted "wizard" finds himself up against three witches and must decide who he can trust and how to use his powers for the good of the world. this movie had a lot of mix review just like the hobbit but this movie is fun as hell. I mean the 3-D was not good but the visual effect's are amazing.
Excerpt: Neither great nor powerful enough, but it has the heart at various points and the ultimate humor that works on to entertain for the final act. Director Sam Raimi, introduces the film with old and classy way , then suddenly bedazzles with rich colors and the land of Oz. James Franco was almost wasted for most of the film, with gimmick tricks , slapstick humor and most of all an idiotic and silly characterization.
Excerpt: Everything the Wizard of Oz IS, this movie ISN'T. There's no magic and whimsy. The actors try very hard to fake innocence and to have a whimsical air about them and just come off very fake and wooden. The casting was horrible. James Franco is not a leading man. He has absolutely no charisma. And when you're playing a philandering magician, you need charisma. I didn't see a wizard or a character. I saw James Franco in a funny suit, acting like an idiot.
Excerpt: Review 3DTV: LG 32LM3400 Cinema 3D On the film: I had the chance to see it in 2D on teathers, and it's a great, valorical film, as i said, a nice family movie. On the Video: Really explosive and pure colors on the transfer, even through 3D glasses, and the first B/W part makes the colores even more incredible. On the 3D: Great 3D effects, pop-out moments and depth are great all throughout the film.
Excerpt: There is not much to review regarding the 3D movie OZ the Great and Powerful. It was Beautiful Eye Candy and audio scored perfect using DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 The story was fresh and a new take on the world of OZ. Very story driven which was done at the right pace to keep things moving along while watching in awe of the use of such vibrant colors. Such breath taking scenery with flair added to the smallest of details. The 3D in this movie was just 100% top notch. So..
Excerpt: I honestly really disliked this film; this is not a bad film, but it had a lot of major problems in my opinion. The visuals were okay, I just really have a hard time getting immersed into a film when everything is clearly computer generated; I literally felt like I was watching a cartoon at times. The tone awkwardly switched between sweet and silly, to dark and ominous, the combo really didn't work.
