Intrigue, action and suspense film about a deadly and rapacious virus spread in the air
6 February 2012
Summary: When a disease in Africa is found , extreme measures are necessary to stop a rapacious epidemic , as dinky Colonel Sam Daniels (Dustin Hoffman) of the United States Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases is sent to discover it .
Excerpt: This is a STEP UP for this film. The 1080p picture is alot better then the grainy DVD and the TrueHD track is much more exciting to listen to then the low bit rate AC-3 track on the DVD. I replaced the First DVD release of Outbreak. Anyone who is a fan of this film should get this one.
Summary: Outbreak (1995, Dir. Wolfgang Peterson) It's 1967 and there's a deadly outbreak of 100% mortality rate virus in Motaba River Valley, Zaire. The Valley is destroyed to prevent the virus from spreading, but 27 years later, the virus finds its way over to the USA aboard a monkey.
Excerpt: After reading all the reviews I was not going to purchase this movie. It was on sale for $14.99 so I bought it. I was expecting the worst but instead I am satisfied with my purchase. Video is a huge improvement over my old DVD. There are alot of details I can see now that weren't there in the DVD.
Excerpt: This is the 3rd of the Warner September 2nd releases that i've seen (Under Siege 2 and Eraser being the others) and honestly, I thought this might be the best overall. Though not a breathtaking audio mix, it did have a suprising amount of presence and more clarity than the other Warner titles.
Excerpt: Yes, Warner Bros. sucks, so if you Warner executives are perusing the board take notice you cheap bastards! They need to start release 5 star video & audio catalog titles! This is absolutely ridiculous!
Excerpt: I thought most Blu-Ray transfer should at the minimum offers significant improvement over the DVD version, even for older films. Unfortunately not the case here. This picture quality is pure crap. Way too soft and no details at all. To be direct, it was no better than a upconverted DVD picture.
