  • Summary: Okay when I went to go see this movie in the cinema they was people talking thought out the film and my dad told them to shut up. After devastating war that brought Earth on the brink of extinction, the remaining people are assigned to protect the last useful sources of energy. That is until a technician on the ground discovers something that changes everything he has been told. This movie had good visual effect's/tom cruise and Morgan freeman was good.

  • Summary: After getting home and removing the cover I saw that there is a dent in the front of the Metalpak case that I bought. This was really disappointing, because, otherwise I really like the quality of the case.

  • Summary: Featuring some really great visuals, a stylish soundtrack, and two really good lead performances from Tom Cruise and Andrea Riseborough, the first forty minutes were absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, Oblivion includes a few too many predictable, unimportant, or borrowed plot twists that really made the film less satisfying than it could have been.

Blatantly Derivative

  • Excerpt: Oblivion is basically just a random hodgepodge of ideas, scenes and twists from the some of the most important Sci-Fi films of the past fifty years. Unless the most recent science fiction film you’ve seen is A Trip to The Moon, this probably won’t do much for you. Oblivion was directed by Joseph Kosinski, the guy who directed Tron: Legacy and he brings the same level of visual grandeur and visual originality to this movie.

  • Summary: I liked the movie Oblivion and would love to have it as part of my DVD collection when it is released, meaning I would like to watch this one quite a few times. Tom Cruise was believable in his role, but also likeable. I wanted his character to succeed in his goal of providing safety to the remains of Earth for a scant two weeks before he can head back to the new home base. But for an action film, Oblivion was awfully slow. It was not dull.

Am I Seeing Double?

  • Excerpt: I was hoping that Oblivion would be the first great film of 2013 - and while it has plenty going for it, I'm still waiting to be blown away. My main issue with Oblivion is that it mixes so many elements from previous sci-fi film that it never really finds its own voice. Visually, it is stunning but the plot is a bit too rehashed and the characters a bit too flat to be truly outstanding. Let's start off with the special effects - as this is the highlight of the film.

  • Summary: 'Oblivion's story contains some tropes I've seen in other sci-fi movies, which made the twists predictable. However, with the way the plot unfolds, I was engaged and wanted to see it through. The special effects are quite amazing and the action is tense. Good effort, but just a bit disappointing.
