Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

11 June 2012
  • Excerpt: In Ghost Protocol , the Mission Impossible franchise has delivered its best outing of Tom Cruise's reign and done so by managing the simple expedient of invoking the spirit of the original TV series - plenty of human mental ingenuity on display, reliance on masks, and dependence on opponents' human frailties.

  • Conclusion: Though it lacks any lingering value, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol proves to be a plenty fun ride. Chockfull of imaginative action sequences, this installment breathes new life in a spy franchise that could and should be tired.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

High-Def Digest
16 April 2012
  • Conclusion: Thanks to a character-driven screenplay, and Brad Bird's thrilling live action filmmaking debut, 'Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol' injects new energy and life into an aging series. It's exciting, suspense and (rare these days) visual coherence fuel the action, and you actually care about the people. As a Blu-ray, it features top flight video and a killer, reference quality 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Blu-ray Review

BigPictureBigSound
15 April 2012
  • Excerpt: The Movie Sure, Tom Cruise may come off as kind of smug, perhaps arrogant, even slightly bizarre when he's not up on the big screen, and his best work over the past decade was probably his heavily-made-up cameo in Tropic Thunder , but how can even the staunchest cynic not admire the go-for-broke élan he brings to the Mission: Impossible franchise that he headlines and produces?

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Blu-ray Review

blu-ray.com
12 April 2012
  • Summary: Predict the unthinkable. There's never a dull moment in the life of IMF agent Ethan Hunt. With more death-defying, hard-hitting, every-millisecond-counts action-per-adventure to his name than James Bond and just as much international intrigue and danger under his belt as Jack Ryan , it's a wonder he's still walking around in one piece, let alone crawling up the sides of buildings, shooting straight, and running just a hair slower than a gazelle.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol ‘Best Buy Exclusive’ (Blu-ray Review)

whysoblu.com
2 April 2012
  • Conclusion: Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is my second favorite of the series behind the first film. It’s a lot of fun and stays consistent in balancing out the thrills, action scenes, with small doses of humor here and there. I would say that’s due to Simon Pegg’s expanded agent role. The supporting cast is solid, and look like they’ve jelled really well together.
