Summary: The time travel plot has a couple of glaring holes and the villain is severly underdeveloped, but the humor hits most of the time. Much better jokes than in the previous MIB. The visual effects are also impressive. It's a brisk film, with an overall fun tone. The added emotional revelation at the end was a nice touch and brings it closer to the level of the first MIB.
Excerpt: Directed by Barry Sonnenfield Starring Tommy lee Jones, Will Smith and Josh Brolin Grade : B- Barry Sonnenfield knows that if audience expects a crappy entertainer slightly ooish and frightening, then it would be men in black. Men in black are back again with another way too funny and perfunctory story. But this time, they are entertaining to the extent we will be satisfied.
Excerpt: Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement) tries to destroy mankind. Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) talks to Agent J (Will Smith). J then discovers that K was killed in action in the year 1969. Broslin did a good job portraying a young Agent K, which in effect reduces the role of Tommy Lee Jones. Soundtrack was good thanks to Elfman and script solid as always coming from Cohen. Effects were spectacular.
Excerpt: Anyone who has seen the previous two movies know that Men in Black is the state's secret police who handle extraterrestrial beings and are responsible for the public to stay ignorant of the existence of extraterrestrial visitors to Earth. Therefore when intergalactic criminal Boris the Animal (last surviving member of the predatory Boglodyte race) escapes from a maximum security prison located on the moon it is up to Agent J going back to the past to save his taciturn...
Excerpt: Well, it’s been ten long years since Agents J and K showed off their intergalactic protection skills in Men In Black 2, and given that the film didn’t exactly win rave reviews, you can’t blame anyone for being a little skeptical about the likelihood of a third installment being memorable. Luckily, I am always willing to give Will Smith the benefit of the doubt, and I’m happy to report that he and the entire cast made it worth my time.
Summary: Could Men in Black III possibly be good? It has been quite a while since the first one, which believe it or not, was back in 1997. Even the second one (which wasn't very good), was back in 2002. Ten years later, we now have the third, and it was surprisingly good. Will Smith doesn't look a day older, maybe he is an alien himself? The movie is full of the same great comedy as the first, and never gets boring. Watch for the little things, it can add further enjoyment.
Excerpt: The original Men in Black was a rather fun look into a secret organization that monitors the vast alien activity on earth (mostly in New York) - it was a new, comedic twist on sci fi. The second entry was a rather wasted affair - deflating all the fun of the original. Ten years later, the third entry comes along, and falls right in the middle of the two.
Summary: Having not seen the film at the cinema, I was wary about the latest installment to this franchise. However I was pleasantly surprised; this film is as good as the first MIB in its witty and original humor.Josh Brolin's performance as a young agent K is fantastic.
