As of today, this is the only Lars Von Trier film I've seen
11 February 2015
Excerpt: His films are either "love 'em" or "hate 'em" and they include graphic sex and nudity. But then that's European cinema for ya! So I heard about this film and I wanted to see. I rented it out and I loved it. The first 8 minutes are in slow motion and are very beautiful to look at. Very artsy.
Excerpt: Lars Von Trier is a polarizing director. Seldom has there been a more appropriate film maker to place the phrase: "either love him or hate him". In this case the "hate" factor seems a bit more appropriate. He is anything if not a great film maker with a unique vision.
Conclusion: the film is in two parts, the first 'JUSTINE' which tells the tale of 'justine and micheal's' wedding reception at the home of sister 'clair and husband john's' home. a lavish affair that is dampened by 'justine's' apparent dis-interest in the expensive cellebration put together on her behalf.
