Conclusion: So, I see you got this far in the review. Perhaps there are people that are interested in this movie (that, or you're really bored at work). In that case let's just say that this is another pointless DTV action movie with one has-been and one never-was. The audio and video are pretty solid considering its DTV roots. Still, there's nothing about this movie that is even remotely considered recommend-worthy. Just pass on by the next time you go to the movie store.
Excerpt: Two Steves are better than one! Director by Keoni Waxman worked with Steven Seagal in A Dangerous Man and with Steve Austin on Hunt To Kill so it sort of made sense that he’d pair the two up to co-star in an action movie at some point in time. With Anchor Bay’s Blu-ray release of 2012’s Maximum Conviction, that time is evidently upon us.
Conclusion: In its better moments, Maximum Conviction was more watchable than I expected it to be, but it still has very little going for it on the whole. Dark, violent, tough to warm to, and occasionally hard to follow, this will play to a very narrow audience. Really, the only appeal will lie with those with a taste for low-budget action movies that have to be scouted out and discovered.
