Excerpt: Up until the early 90s New York City was a very different place when compared to the vibrant cosmopolitan/metropolitan of culture and coffee shops with free Wi-Fi of today. It was a very dirty city filled with porno theatres, pawn shops, and crack houses where you couldn't walk ten feet without getting mugged.
Excerpt: Arrow does it again! The day I decided to start collecting their limited edition blu-rays was a monumental day for me; Arrow has managed to open my eyes to a whole class of films with which I was wholly unfamiliar until I stumbled across this release at a local book/movie/music store (in Lexington, Kentucky, no less! Amazing where treasures can end up.
Excerpt: I remember watching this film as a teenager and taping it onto a VHS tape from Bravo (showing my age a little here). This film brings back great memories so it is difficult to be objective but suffice to say, I love it. I think that Maniac (an earlier piece by Lustig) is a better film but this is far more fun. Arrow have done a good a job as possible with the PQ. There are lines and specks but very little trace of DNR or edge enhancement.
Excerpt: I guess this is a horror version of what would happen if the system busted Dirty Harry and he came back as a half-dead zombie to terrorize the innocents and those who betrayed him. For the most part, it's good 80's horror fun featuring some very under appreciated actors in Bruce Campbell and Tom Atkins. Generally, the sequel is never as good as the original, but Maniac Cop 2 is awesome and I'd give it a 5 easily. Too bad, it hasn't been announced for Blu yet.
Summary: A Terrible film from an era of terrible films. But what you gonna do? Mad half dead cop going around on rampage, Bruce Campbell gets fitted for the killings and has to clear himself. The B-Movie genre rarel gets better.
Summary: Only rented this because it starred the legendary iron-chinned Bruce Campbell! I was actually disappointed at the amount he was in it really..this is one of those films where no one is really the star, but is also one of those films where you really don't give a toss! Story wise, this is no different to a million other films of the same genre, and even paves the way for some of cinemas more recent teeny slasher films.
Summary: Do you like 80s buffont hair styles? Does the sight of a shell suit fill you with awe? Is Bruce Campbell a God? Do you like your horror more cheesy then Mr Cheese's Cheese party? If you answered yes to the above then this film is for you. I expected little from this film and it did not deliver that much but it was impressive enough. A rogue cop is on the loose in NYU killing innocent people. The police think they have their man when they arrest Bruce Campbell.
