Excerpt: I think I enjoyed "Man Of Steel" more than others, as it did many things right. I liked how Lois Lane actually knows who Superman is, that was a necessary change. I also liked how Lois Lane was not a raging b*tch in this movie. I enjoyed how they explained why how Superman was weaker around Kryptonite in this movie. Another very nice aspect here was how General Zod actually had motivation to do what he was doing, as oppose to just destroying stuff simply to be a villain.
Summary: Very well developed Superman story from the beginning. The main reason I give 4 rather than 5 stars is the sheer amount of collateral damage, Plus I find super hero movies a bit sickening at certain points.
Summary: I felt this re-told the superman story in a way none of the other films came close to. There are lots of references to its DC comic history and as such feels a lot more than just an alien fired from krypton who feels the need to dress silly. Here the film makes it clear why Superman has such an affiliation with humans and shapes this most famous of superheros well and in a fashion we can understand.
Excerpt: Following on from his success with the Dark knight trilogy, Chris Nolan has brought a dark edginess to the Superman franchise. Full of action and great special effects, the only thing I feel is lacking is more of a look into his youth. While flashbacks give some snippets of insight, I did feel it was a bit disjointed. Overall though, a good movie, well done and totally enjoyable, if you are a Superman fanatic!
Excerpt: I have to disagree with reviewer, 3D IS the way to go on this one. The natural depth and sense of space is very well done. Only when you take off the glasses do you truly realize the benefit of the natural 3D conversion. Interesting at the half way point, the depth intensifies (right after tornado scene) so that it's more noticeable. Over all I liked the movie very much, aside from the overtly contrived and plagiaristic nature of the movie.
Excerpt: What was Jeffery Kaufman thinking when he gave the PQ a 5/5? Seriously, grain in almost every scene. This really did piss me off, because I was under the impression that the PQ for this Blu-ray was truly perfect, but, sadly, it's not. Shame on you Warner Bros.
Summary: A very good reboot for the Superman franchise as it was better with jaw droping special effects and more intense action especially towards the end. The story concentrated a little to much on the background story of Superman and the 3D effects were poor.
Summary: Firstly, the 3d Conversation on this film is sloppy and poor. It's well documented that the team didn't want to convert to 3D , but were made too at the last minute. Its been rushed and shows such. Focusing is poor, motion and lighting blur is plentiful. 2D disc is of a very high standard and the DTS HD track is fantastic. There's a ral sense of depth, and the music score is subtle but very good. The film has potential.
