I loved Man of Steel. There I said it.

  • Excerpt: Wow, still don't believe me? This is Zack Snyder's best film and one of the better comic book movie reboots to have been released thus far. Let's face it folks, the Superman franchise needed a good shot in the arm and who else but Snyder was good enough to do it? With Nolan as producer and Goyer as writer, I expected a decent film but nothing like I expected. Holy shit. Henry Cavill nails it as Superman.

Good, but few niggles making it brilliant

  • Summary: Firstly, the 3d Conversation on this film is sloppy and poor. It's well documented that the team didn't want to convert to 3D , but were made too at the last minute. Its been rushed and shows such. Focusing is poor, motion and lighting blur is plentiful. 2D disc is of a very high standard and the DTS HD track is fantastic. There's a ral sense of depth, and the music score is subtle but very good. The film has potential.

Super cinema spectacle

  • Summary: Beautifully crafted popcorn fare. Henry Cavill owns the man-in-metallic-tights role. Michael Shannon rocks as the snarly bad guy who's convinced he's doing good. Amy Adams is a breath of fresh air as a journalist not so dumb as to be fooled by a pair of spectacles, and Kevin Costner manages to make sappy dad dialogue work.

  • Summary: I enjoyed this film, it had a great supporting cast which really gave the film some extra depth. Action was fast and plenty and at the end of the day that's what it was all about.
