"Man Of Steel" by Yojimbo

Yojimbo, FilmCrave
21 May 2015
  • Excerpt: A super-powered alien who crash landed on Earth as a child endangers the Earth when the military ruler of his planet arrives on a war ship demanding his return. Man Of Steel is a kind of cover version of Superman II (in a similar way that Into Darkness was a cover version of Wrath Of Khan) which is...

Too pc.

sleepym, blu-ray.com
3 February 2014
  • Excerpt: They changed the plot to make it "pc" for current social trends. Maybe Superman came out of some earth based wardrobe storage room instead of an alien planet. Didn't like how things were changed, like the first Hulk movie from 2003, this movie sucked..

Superlong is more like it.

Taz, FilmCrave
31 December 2013
  • Excerpt: The only reason this movie got two stars from me was because it has the character of Superman in it. I love the character of Superman and because of that I was able to make it through the two and a half hours of over stylized crap Zach Snyder filled this movie with.

Spectacle and Spectacle Alone

FilmCrave
19 June 2013
  • Excerpt: Superman is not Batman. In saying that I don’t mean that I think that Superman isn’t as good as Batman, but that I think Superman should not be treated the same way as Batman. I am not a huge comic book nerd, but from what I can tell Superman hasn’t changed nearly as much over the length of his...

CGI-fest

FletchNZ, Flicks
21 October 2013
  • Summary: This film has nothing on the 1978 Superman movie starring Christopher Reeve. That film still makes me feel like I'm watching Superman and it has a sense of wonder. Man Of Steel never makes me think I'm watching Superman; it's some super powered person yes, but it isn't Superman - the suit isn't much...

Average

Lucy-Power, Flicks
21 October 2013
  • Summary: Very average movie. Not enough time was spent on Superman's background, and Henry Cavill was hard to like given his lack of facial expressions. Action scenes were good, although that seemed to be all the movie was about. The main villain was funny rather than scary.

Disappointing

tommnz, Flicks
21 October 2013
  • Summary: Whereas Batman was reignited in the latest Nolan trilogy I expected the same for Superman and had high hopes, I was genuinely excited. But, turns out it was another lame, cheesy attempt which left me feeling ripped off.

Rubbish. Where's the charm?

Red, Flicks
21 October 2013
  • Summary: I'm a big Superman fan and have been eagerly awaiting this movie. I thought it was hugely disappointing. It as if it was directed by Michael Bay - barely nothing in the way of character or charm, huge on wanton destruction, terrible dialogue and plot holes (why doesn't Superman just take his fight...

Too alien not enough super man

CVAH, Flicks
21 October 2013
  • Summary: I'm a big superman fan and this movie does not depict the sensitivity and nerdy character strength that Christopher Reeve portrayed. I missed the real superman! Anyone who knows their superheroes, knows that the charm is in the subtle hint of difference and not depicting superman as an alien.

Did not like.

DanNz, Flicks
21 October 2013
  • Summary: I defy anyone to call this film entertaining. In trying to make Superman darker and more conflicted, they both broke the character and made a dull, emotionless film. They missed their 'gritty' target and landed on 'boring' instead.
