Mad Max Trilogy

Sound & Vision Magazine
25 November 2013
  • Excerpt: Directed and co-written by George Miller, Mad Max is a love letter to fast cars, and more specifically car chases, spectacularly staged despite a sub-$1M production budget. It set a new box office record in its native Australia and was a hit around the world—except in the United States, partly because of the distributor’s decision to dub everyone with flat American accents.

Mad Max Trilogy - Limited Edition Tin

DVD Talk
9 June 2013
  • Conclusion: No matter which installment you prefer, the Mad Max series began with a terrific trilogy that fans of the post-apocalyptic genre have enjoyed for decades. With a fourth installment up for release next year, it's no surprise that Warner Bros. has decided to cash in early...and though it's not a total upgrade, getting two nice A/V tweaks for The Road Warrior and, of course, the new-to-Blu Beyond Thunderdome make the decision a little easier.

Mad Max Trilogy

High-Def Digest
7 June 2013
  • Conclusion: Mad Max roared into theaters like a fuel-injected suicide machine, splattering the silver screen with bloody vengeance, modified-car mayhem, and a bleak vision of a post-apocalyptic future. Super-charged and revving with wild stunt spectaculars, George Miller continued the lone adventures of the road warrior with two more sequels that satisfy audiences' lust for action and adventure with a hero we will gladly cheer for.

  • Summary: For those who love special packaging, or those new to the Mad Max phenomenon, Warner Home Video offers all three of the original films starring Mel Gibson in a single Blu-ray case packed inside a metal tin. The first film is the same disc previously released by MGM in 2010; the second is a Warner remaster; and the third is new to Blu-ray.

Mad Max Collection

3 February 2014

Mad Max Trilogy - Gas Tin, Limited Edition (Blu-ray) (3-disc)
