Excerpt: I'll start of by declaring my fandome of Saturday Night Live, which admittedly has its highs and lows...very lows. I started watching the show when I was in high school, during which the cast still included Kristen Wiig and Will Forte who starred in the MacGruber skits, and likewise star in this film. Needless to say, I was looking forward to this. I was also just as doubtful as almost everyone else, espeically when dreadful reviews started pooring in. But you know what?
Excerpt: MacGruber was a box office flop and received good reviews from critics, but the non-critic (average movie watchers), just bagged on it calling it a terrible movie, like Machete. If you ask somebody if they saw "Machete" and they'll probably tell you how terrible it was - which it most certainly wasn't! It's just because it's cheesy and had humor, MacGruber too is cheesy and overall just flat out funny.
Summary: Silly, juvenile, sophomoric...and absolutely brilliant. How could anyone have expected more from a full-length version of a MacGruber skit?? It is a silly SNL skit, for God's sake! Gratuitous in language, violence and 80's references, the only reason not to like this movie is if you thought they shouldn't have made a movie version of it. Deal with it. They made it. And if you were a Silly, juvenile, sophomoric...and absolutely brilliant.
Excerpt: MacGruber was a lot of fun, the humor's not for everyone. However, for the people that do find it funny, they will find it hilarious. The cast is great, they never take their roles too seriously and they are very funny. The PQ is amazing. It is very clean and sharp, you will not be disappointed. The AQ was also very good. Recommended.
Excerpt: I scoffed when I first heard they were making a Macgruber movie but, I have to admit it's pretty damn funny. I'm not one that is easily amused either. The picture and sound quality are both very good. The extras are pretty weak but, the movie itself is a fun, rediculous, laugh out loud action comedy. I never thought I would buy this before I watched it but, if I see it drop under $15 I just may have to pick this up.
Summary: I heard this movie sucked when it was out in theaters but when I saw it it exceeded my expectations. I personally thought it was funny as hell. You're either gonna really like this movie, or you have a whack sense of humor and you're gonna think it's one of the stupidest films ever.
Summary: The jokes are entirely hit or miss, but the misses are far less frequent. Forte and Wiig are predictably daft and hilarious, but Phillippe surprises with comedic chops not really seen before. It is over-the-top, incredibly silly, and mostly hilarious. And I laughed every time "Von Cunth" was spoken.
Summary: "Funny from start to finish, i loved every second of this film, defiantly one of the best action comedies i have seen in a while, Will Forte does an awesome job bringing the SNL character to the Big screen. I love the Big screen feel of this film!" ...
