Excerpt: Finally, for my 200th review, here’s my long-awaited take on ‘The Lord of the Rings Trilogy on this fantastic, gold-painted Extended Edition Blu-ray set. ‘Fellowship’- This is the movie that started it all and it’s truly outstanding opening chapter to the trilogy and my second favorite as well!
Extended Editions Brought to Life Perfectly on Blu-Ray!!
6 May 2013
Excerpt: The blu-ray extended editions of The Lord of the Rings are brought to life on blu-ray perfectly. MOVIE (5.0/5.0) The three extended editions are better, story-wise, than the theatrical versions of the film. Events are better explained and the new scenes are improvements, and the extended scenes add bits and parts that must be seen. VIDEO (4.5/5.0) The video quality of the extended editions for Two Towers and Return of the King is perfect.
Excerpt: Highest Recommendation. The Fellowship of the Ring: Movie = 5.0 Video = 3.5 Audio = 5.0 Extras = 3.0 Overall = 4.0 The Two Towers: Movie = 5.0 Video = 4.0 Audio = 5.0 Extras = 3.0 Overall = 4.5 The Return of the King: Movie = 5.0 Video = 4.0 Audio = 5.0 Extras = 3.0 Overall = 4.5
Excerpt: The best movies in trilogy set I've seen so far. The quality level of all three films was superb. The video details were excellent and presented life-like images. The audio was crisp and booming! I can watch them over and over again...Hope the prequels or sequels, if any, will be just as equal. I'm in awe!
Excerpt: Everyone has said it all already - The set has been worth the wait and the sextuple(?) dip it represents (I have all of the versions that were released except the single disk DVDs - I gave those away when I got the 2 Disk DVD sets.) I am a little disappointed that the extras are identical to what I already have on the Extended DVDs - they did include new BTS documentaries on a third extra disk for each film.
Excerpt: Well I will give you my take on this bluray since I talked about the extended edition!the trilogy itself is fantastic no matter what. With it's extraordinary cast and spectacular visual effects. I am happy I purchased this bluray pack as well. Movies FotR: 4.5/5. Fellowship was a great movie and it introduced the story quite well. Everyone like Elijah, Ian, Viggo, Dominic, Billy, John-Rhys, Orlando, Sean B, & Sean A all did a fantastic job. T.T. 5/5.
Excerpt: I was never distracted by the new supposed tint and if I hadn't heard comments all over the internet about it, it would have never even came to mind. The pq is far better than the last blu-ray release and is just incredibly stunning throughout the entire film. The aq is just incredible with one of the best film scores ever written.
Excerpt: I bought this collection the day it was released. LOVE how the Blu Ray cases are black; its always nice to see something unique like that with box sets. There is only ONE flaw i see to this.. and that is how each movie is split into 2 seperate discs. I own the DVD Extended cuts as well, and was hoping the Blu Ray would put each film on one disc a piece, because we all know a Blu Ray disc has enough space, unlike the DVD.
