  • Summary: The thing that is really important when you watch this movie is to keep an open mind. It is really different from anything I had ever seen before. It's also not very interesting to start with, but, as with a lot of movies, it's worthwhile to stick around. In the end, I found it very enjoyable and visually beautiful.

The best movie, and faith.

  • Excerpt: Wow what an amazing, best, Christian, drama, faith, action, story, and family move. I love Life of Pi and I saw it in theaters twice. I really think its defiently one of the best movies ever made. I love it how Richard Parker the tiger doesn't kill Pi in the movie. I love it also that it's Christian and faith movie. If Life of Pi would have won the movie of the year that woul have been excellent.

Life of Pi

  • Excerpt: A beautiful film! Fueled by some amazing and dazzling visual effects, Life of Pi is a fantastical story of survival, but there's so much more to it. On the surface it's a survival story, but it's also a poignant tale about finding oneself. As the film draws to its close, you think you have a grasp on the message, but then the ending concludes and you realize there's a little bit more to think about.

Life of Pi review

FilmCrave

  • Excerpt: What a beautiful film. I just can't say enough about the visual aspect of this film. I have no reference point, I have not read the book, which is probably a good thing. The story is interesting. A boy shipwrecked and living on a lifeboat with a tiger. I'm not sure I got all of the references to God, or Krishna, or whatever other religion Pi was practicing at the time. In fact, I'm not sure that this isn't a film about the lack of a "God.

Landmark of Visual Mastery

VictorP Cape Town RSA, Kalahari

  • Excerpt: Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" is a miraculous achievement of storytelling and a landmark of visual mastery. Inspired by a worldwide best-seller that many readers must have assumed was unfilmable, it is a triumph over its difficulties. It is also a moving spiritual achievement, a movie whose title could have been shortened to "life." The story involves the 227 days that its teenage hero spends drifting across the Pacific in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger.

Should see it again, with no sleep in the end. ;)

  • Excerpt: A shipwreck leads Pi Patel to a wonderful journey over the sea water with a zebra, orangutan, hyena and Bengal tiger in a lifeboat. With them, he discovers and realizes the courage within him. *** Just a disclaimer: I failed to see the entire movie as by the time I sat down in a movie theater to see this film, I was really tired from school and so I fell asleep I think 10 minutes before it ended. ANYWAY, I would not say that this movie is a crap or whatever.

Life of Pi is kind of lame, but worth watching

FilmCrave
26 March 2013
  • Excerpt: Life of Pi is a beautiful movie to look at, but has a fatal flaw that keeps me from liking it as much as the critics seem to. That flaw is that it doesn’t mean anything. There is no profound message in the story or complex idea, there is a clumsy “coexist” message in the film, but it’s barely recognizable. Is that wrong? No. It’s perfectly okay for a movie to have a lame message or even no message at all.

Review: Life of Pi

FilmCrave
13 March 2013
  • Excerpt: Beautiful, enriching, and emotionally impactful, Life of Pi is cinematic poetry at some of its most authentic. It's a compelling blend of visual effects and storytelling. I watched the film on Blu-ray/3D, and I must say the 3D was jaw-dropping at many points. The visuals are handled incredibly well, used as a storytelling tool and create a massive spectacle. The CGI tiger, Richard Parker, looks outstanding.
