Excerpt: A lot of people hate this movie, and can totally understand why after watching it multiple times. I really like the film. Watched it in the theaters with my friends and we had a blast. Picked the movie up on Blu really cheap at Best Buy. Blu-ray break down - Action/fantasy/horror SFX and stunts look really good. Overall good transfer, although it has some digital grain (some may not like). Sound quality is not bad.
Excerpt: I went in thinking this movie would suck, but its actually an OK movie. PQ and Effects are good. Its more of Zombie type of movie with a Religious backing. The Angels/Religious aspect is probably where all the hate comes from.
Excerpt: The movie is alright. It is some what supsenseful towards the beginning. As the movie progresses it gets boring. This movie kind of just ends, leaving you thinking "wtf???" right after. I'll probably never watch this movie again.
Excerpt: the bad script is the film's failing as the post apocalyptic world does not look so bad.. acting is average ; however many questions are still left unanswered - why was Michael resurrected?? Did God have a change of heart ?? How to carry on combat the omnipotent with guns?? The action and interaction between the characters is good as they try their best to survive.. Not bad if you are a fan of the resident evil series.
Summary: Not too bad, the plot sucked badly with some sort of battle for mankind to prove to God that we deserve to live. The actors were great at what they do, its just that the story was missing much needed detail on the angels and what started it all. Also the people fighting were more like demons than just mere possession, that was a big mistake again in story line.
Excerpt: Sony presents Legion on Blu-Ray. I found the film itself to be average. The concept had so much potential, but it was squandered by the writing. On the bright side, the picture/sound quality is excellent, what you expect for a new release these days. The extras include 3 featurettes, totaling around 45 minutes in length and a picture-in-picture commentary. Give it a rent, but you will probably view it as a missed opportunity like I did.
Excerpt: First, I don't understand all the hate surrounding this film. Maybe people just hate religious themes films these days. The movie borrows elements from many other films (such as Terminator, Tremors, Night of the Living Dead, etc), but I've enjoyed many movies that borrow from others. For an action movie, "Legion" has much more going for it than many action movies: satisfying character development, high levels of intensity and genuine moments of creepiness.
Excerpt: This is a an enjoyable movie, why? because the picture and sound quality is great and the story has enough meat in it to keep you engaged. The story itself has a religious theme that is always difficult to make believable in movies, whilst it may not succeed you can still enjoy the journey. The action is mixed with pretty decent dialogue to keep the characters mildly interesting. The cast is pretty strong with people you will recognize and some new ones, there all pretty well...
Excerpt: Angels pack heat and distribute weapons in a film with no audience or perhaps a "golden turkey"? Maybe both; but it is entertaining; if you don't mind 'Bible-Bending' elements in a B-horror film; with "A" effects and direction as cheesy as some of my favorite 50s at heart fright flicks'; then you're in. I think people have a problem with anything related to religion and that's this film's worst enemy.
